Email is the fastest way to reach us. We do not accept takedown notices by phone or postal mail.

What to Include

Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your takedown notice must contain all six of the following elements to be valid:

Your identity Your full legal name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. If you are acting on behalf of a copyright owner, state your relationship to them (e.g., authorized agent, attorney).

Identification of the copyrighted work Describe the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed. Include the title, artist name, registration number (if registered), and any other details that identify the work.

Location of the infringing material Provide the specific URL(s) on SongArc where the infringing content can be found. General descriptions are not sufficient — please be as specific as possible.

Good faith statement Include the following statement: "I have a good faith belief that the use of the copyrighted work described above is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."

Accuracy statement under penalty of perjury Include the following statement: "I declare under penalty of perjury that the information in this notice is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner."

Electronic or physical signature Your full legal name typed at the bottom of the notice constitutes a valid electronic signature.

Warning: Filing a false DMCA takedown notice is a federal offense under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). If you knowingly misrepresent that material is infringing, you may be liable for damages, including attorneys' fees. Only submit a notice if you have a genuine good faith belief that infringement has occurred.

What Happens After You Submit

We will review your notice to verify it contains all required information;
If the notice is complete and valid, we will remove or disable access to the identified content promptly;
We will notify the user who uploaded the content that it has been removed;
The user may submit a counter-notification if they believe the content was removed in error;
If a valid counter-notification is received, we may restore the content after 10–14 business days unless a court action is filed.

We aim to respond to all valid takedown notices within 5 business days.

Counter-Notifications

General Copyright Questions
